Hello Yarnies541, we are officially in the cozy craft time of year! It is unseasonably warm right now, making for great leaf viewing around the county and in many of our neighborhoods.

We had the best time at the Eugene Bright Parade! Extra special shout out to Karen and the Cozy crew for the ideas and energy! Check out our discord for pictures of the parade. We are excited for next year already!

Did you know that one of our local stores made a it into an article by surprise? check it out here!

Congratulations Stringfield Yarn Collective! Other awesome shops listed as well, but Yarnies541 is partial to our own local shops!

Our weekly meetups continue, free and open to the community. Bring your project and join us for community crafting!

Tuesdays 5:30pm at the Hybrid Gallery: 941 W 3rd Ave in Eugene. Outside food welcome, beverages and snacks available for purchase at venue.

Yarnies541 celebrates our Business Birthday in October and this year we’re running a paid-tier membership sale through October 15th. Paid-tier memberships are $15 through Thursday, October 15th. Just in time for the Yarneis541 birthday party on October 25th, an exclusive paid-tier member event honoring the folks who make Yarnies541 business and community support possible! Food and beverages provided and this year we’re hosting a yarn swap! So bring some yarn that is itching for a new home to become something beautiful. Full/mostly full skeins only, no odors, grime or pet dander please. No need to wrap them, we want folks to know what they’re taking home. Save the surprises for the Big Fleece in January! Learn more about our memberships here

The Cottage Grove Library reached out to let us know about their Yarnapalooza “craft-in” event on Wednesday, November 18th at the Cottage Grove Public Library from 1-6pm. They are hosting a peg weaving workshop from 1-2:45 (rsvp) and yarn and fabric swap from 3-6. What a great way to combine our love of fiber craft and our love of libraries! Cottage Grove Public Library is located at 700 E Gibbs Ave in Cottage Grove.

Off the topic of yarn, and in the spirit of Yarnies541 community support: we don’t re-invent the wheel, we support and amplify what has been built by survivors already. Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) of Lane County provides vital support to survivors and their loved ones. There is a continued and heightened need for support in general, as well as reform at many levels for the safety and care of our community. Our hope and work is toward a future where sexual assault is not tolerated in any form, anywhere.

SASS can be found

  • online at sass-lane.org (text and chat support via their website M-F, 9 to 5).
  • Free and confidential 24/7 line: 541-343-7277
  • Follow SASS on instagram @sexualassaultsupportservices to stay in the know about how to get help and support the services SASS provides.

Please consider supporting SASS financially. If you’re not able to give at this time, consider boosting their contact information and letting folks know SASS is here to support survivors of sexual assault and their friends and family.

As always, Thank you for building this great community! Please consider supporting our local businesses that support our club: stringfieldyarncollective.com and cozy-yarn.com as well as ebbandflowboutique.com and www.alwaysbekindyarn.com, more at Yarnies541.org on our member-maker page!

Please check out the calendar on our website www.Yarnies541.org for recurring events. And please, email or comment about events we may have missed! Or post them on the Yarnies541 Discord, all links on our website.
