Happy June Yarnies541!
June is FULL of activities and holidays and reasons to keep in community with each other! We are not even kidding. If you’re bored, it’s on you this month.
First things first, announcement about YIP day 2026: Yarn in Public location has changed: we will be meeting up at the 5th Street Market Alley at 550 Pearl Street downtown in Eugene. This is a covered outdoor space with plenty of seating, although you are welcome to bring your own camp chair. There are many options for food downtown, especially on Saturdays. We will be very public, and hope to interact with many folks. Saturday, June 13th 10am-2pm. Come for the whole time or drop in as you are able!
in addition to the ongoing weekly meetups:
Here is the June Lineup so far:
Tuesday, June 9th 6pm: Stitch & Pitch with Stringfield Yarn Collective. Come enjoy Pride Night with the Ems as they take on Spokane. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Queer Eugene. You can purchase them through the link here: https://www.gofevo.com/event/Queereugene8
Parking for Ems games is additional and can be prepaid HERE or can be paid at parking lot day of event CARD ONLY. carpooling/bus/walking/biking encouraged!
*This is our regularly scheduled meetup night, folks are welcome to meetup at Ninkasi as usual, and many of us will be at the game instead. Options abound!
You will need a clear stadium approved bag. If you don’t have one, might we interest you in a Yarnies541 branded clear zip tote? $30 purchased through Stringfield Yarn Collective and available for pick up on Monday (Stringfield is closed on Tuesday). stadium bag link here

These stadium totes are good for any venue requiring clear bags: Lane County Fair, other sports events, concerts, etc. A great thing to have for summer activities!

Lane County Fair is coming at the end of July. Online entries are open for submission, more info here: https://www.atthefair.com/creative-exhibits scroll down to the bottom of the linked page and see the fair handbook as well as the online submission link and instructions. If you aren’t sure what you’re going to submit yet, or unsure if your projects will be done in time, you can always submit in-person July 12th and 13th.
Online submissions make everything easier for fair volunteers, so we encourage online submissions (you still have to drop submission off in person July 12-13, but this makes fair staff data entry more manageable).
Either way, we encourage Yarnies541 members to submit whatever you are most proud of into the fair! Winning a ribbon and a whole $3 is great, but most importantly we are promoting the crafts and showing our local area that these arts are still alive and well and fun. And that there is an entire community of artists and crafters out here making beautiful things.
As always, Thank you for building this great community! Please consider supporting our local businesses that support our club: stringfieldyarncollective.com and cozy-yarn.com as well as ebbandflowboutique.com and www.alwaysbekindyarn.com
Please check out our calendar on the main page of the website www.Yarnies541.org for recurring events. And please, as always, email or comment about events we may have missed! Or post them on the Yarnies541 Discord: HERE
