January 4th, 2026
Happy New Year Yarnies! As usual, we are off to a running start!
First: Tuesday, January 6th meetup location change due to a punk show scheduled at 255 Madison (which is exciting and we always support a good punk show!). Yarnies541 will be meeting at Claim 52 on Tuesday Jan. 6th around 5:30pm. Claim 52 is located at 232 Lincoln St. in Eugene. Food and beverages can be purchased at the venue. There is also a “human foosball” meetup that night so that’s exciting! There should be plenty of room for all of us.
Second: Crafter’s Movie Night at the Art House in Eugene: Sunday, January 11th at 7:30 pm. January’s movie is “Rebecca” and you can read more about it, and purchase your ticket here: https://www.eugenearthouse.com/crafters-movie-night/
Karen from Cozy says “wear a cardigan to the show” she has an interesting trivia tidbit to share that night about cardigans and this particular movie.
Third: Business meeting Sunday, January 11th, at 5pm at Stringfield Yarn Collective (175 S. 5th St in Springfield). We will be starting at 5pm as the crafter’s movie night is at 7p.m in Eugene. Business meeting will be a brief one due to the movie. We’ll be discussing The Big Fleece and Palentine’s party plans mostly.
Fourth and important! 2026 paid-tier memberships are available to purchase! Head to https://yarnies541.org/paid-memberships/ to learn more about free-tier vs paid-tier memberships and purchase a paid-tier membership if you would like. Also this year, we are excited to offer STUDENT memberships for currently enrolled student members at a reduced rate. Paid-tier memberships allow Yarnies541 to continue to promote the club, fund the website and plan various events. Paid-tier members receive an ongoing 10% off at Stringfield Yarn Collective, Cozy, Ebb & Flow Boutique, and Always Be Kind Yarn. Click the link above for a complete list of paid-tier membership perks.
Fifth! The Big Fleece is coming up fast! January 17th at 5:30 pm, all proceeds from ticket sales will go to local non-profits doing good works in our community. We’ll be voting on the recipient at the party! Tickets are $5 (paid-tier members, your ticket is included in your membership). Start looking through your stash for things to pass along at our white elephant style gift exchange, and think about what treat or potluck supply you may want to bring. More info and ticket purchase link can be found on our website at http://www.yarnies541.org. Direct ticket purchase and potluck sign up here: The Big Fleece ticket and sign up here
Sixth: Holiday Handmade Gift Bingo has raised $330 after the processing fees! Yarnies541 does not have any control over payment processing fees and did not take any cut from the Holiday Handmade Gift BINGO this year so all $330 will be donated to Food for Lane County this week! That’s almost twice as much as last year! Way to go Yarnies! Winners have been notified via email and discord, Congratulations Jax and Amber J! Our blackout winner was Tina A! Your gift baskets are available for pick up at Stringfield Yarn Collective (175 S. 5th St. in Springfield).

L to R: bingo blackout basket (Tina A.), bingo 1 (Amber J.), bingo 2 (Jax).
Bingo baskets may include bags from Knotty Knittress and Chubby Bee, Yarn from Jadawoo, Boss Kitty, Schoppel Zauberball, and WoolPaka, a yarn bowl from Knotty Knittress (she can make ANYTHING!), Notions from Knotty Knittress and Cozy, a Yarn-on-the-go with built in needle guage from HapBee, a yarn themed soup bowl cozy, and gift cards to Cozy and Stringfield.
PHEW! That was a lot of New Year’s News!
Oh! PS: Stringfield is hosting a sample sale to benefit Yarnies541 and make way for new samples of the new yarn coming in!
