Happy Mid-December Yarnies!! How is it already the middle of December?! It has been so great watching projects come together on Discord and at meetups!
First up: Business Meeting THIS SUNDAY December 14th at 5:30 pm at Stringfield Yarn Collective located at 175 S. 5th Street in Springfield. All member levels welcome to attend.
Second thing: Tuesday, December 16th meetup one time location change. We’ll be meeting at the Oakshire Brewing tent located at 207 Madison St. in Eugene (right next to 255 Madison, so same neighborhood, same street, just right next door this time!). Hope to see you there!
Third and most exciting: We have a Knitty Winter ‘25 published designer in our midst! Big congratulations to Taylor Rutledge (Needle.Fox.Arts on instagram, Needle-Fox-Arts on Ravelry). Knitty chose Taylor’s “Oddment Shawl” in their Winter 2025 digital magazine. This shawl is great for scraps and “odds” hence the name. We are incredibly excited about this and SO proud of Taylor! Meetup news: In addition to the 5:30 pm Tuesday meetups at 255 Madison in Eugene, we are now also hosting meetups on Thursday nights 6pm at Oakshire Commons, 416 Main Street in Springfield. The Thursday meetups includes a 10% discount for Yarnies during meetup times! Outside food is welcome at both places, please purchase drinks at Hosting venue.

Crafter’s Movie Night is BAAAAACK!
Cozy and Art House are doing more crafter’s movie nights where the lights remain at mid level so we can craft AND watch the big screen! Join us for Mary Poppins on Sunday, December 28th at 7pm. About The Big Fleece: Sliding scale tickets to this event will be sold starting at $5. Scope out your stash for something to bring for swapping* as well as a yummy potluck dish you may want to share. The fundraising focus for The Big Fleece 2026 is currently being decided as the evolving landscape in our community may mean we change focus for this event.
*swap gifts must come from stash (NOT purchased for this event) and be fiber craft related. Swap gifts DO NOT have to be full skeins! Swap gifts can be many things! Partial skeins, a whole bag of scraps for a great scrap project, books, patterns, tools and notions, etc. even a project on the needles/hook that you no longer want to finish, funny or ridiculous fiber craft related knickknacks, etc. The possibilities are vast!
This is a great way to pass along once loved (or not!) stash, send it to a new home, and have many laughs in the process.
