Hello Yarnies!
We are well into the rainy season here, perfect for cozy times to focus on winter projects.
November 29-30 kicks off hyper local holiday shopping and Small Business Saturday and our local shops have booked some great trunk shows and spotlight events.
Cozy will feature Boss Kitty yarns as well as Positively Yarnie (stickers and bags! AND the quarterly WIP Bingo host! Learn more here: https://positivelyyarnie.com/wip-bingo). Cozy is at 285 E. 5th Ave. in Eugene.
Stringfield is hosting Jadawoo yarns in-person and Chubby Bee with a whole bunch of new bags! Stringfield Yarn Collective is at 175 S. 5th in Springfield. Paid-tier members, watch your email for a special meet & greet with Jessica from Jadawoo, hot off the SoCal Fiber Fair with special new stuff just for us! While you’re at Stringfield, check out the wishlist option for guaranteed smiles over the holidays.
Ebb & Flow Boutique has extended hours on Friday and Saturday (8am-8pm) and offering free coffee bar, 15% off Ducks merch, and buy 2, get one half off holiday ornaments! Ebb & flow is located at 946 Willamette St. in Eugene.
Holiday Gift Bingo is still happening through January 3rd with all proceeds going toward Food For Lane County, our local food bank. We have raised over $360 so far, which the food bank can turn into so much more! Thank you to all who have purchased a bingo card, we’re so excited to see what folks are making! Each BINGO earns you an entry into the gift basket drawing. If you haven’t already, purchase your Holiday Gift Bingo card here: Yarnies541 Holiday Gift Bingo or visit Yarnies541.org and the link is right on our homepage!
The Big Fleece is just around the corner on January 17th from 5-8pm in the River Road area! Sliding Scale starting at $5. We are asking that folks RSVP so we can plan and there is a link to purchase a ticket in this RSVP form: The Big Fleece RSVP, potluck sign up & ticket purchase here.
Paid-Tier members: your membership includes one ticket to this event, we ask that you also RSVP at the link above so we know who will be there! If you need to purchase additional tickets for guests, you can do so through the RSVP link.
About The Big Fleece: Sliding scale tickets to this event will be sold starting at $5. Scope out your stash for something to bring for swapping* as well as a yummy potluck dish you may want to share. The fundraising focus for The Big Fleece 2026 is currently being decided as the evolving landscape in our community may mean we change focus for this event.
*swap gifts must come from stash (NOT purchased for this event) and be fiber craft related. Swap gifts DO NOT have to be full skeins! Swap gifts can be many things! Partial skeins, a whole bag of scraps for a great scrap project, books, patterns, tools and notions, etc. even a project on the needles/hook that you no longer want to finish. The possibilities are vast!
This is a great way to pass along once loved (or not!) stash, send it to a new home, and have many laughs in the process.
Hope to see you there!
