Hello Fellow Yarnies!

Things are poppin! Here’s the rundown of upcoming events and info to know:

Tuesday May 13th meetup: Monthly Birthday Meetup at Stringfield Yarn Collective (175 S. 5th St in Springfield) 5:30-7:30. Come craft with us, have a cupcake and enjoy each other’s company!

Saturday, May 17th: NAMI walk 10am-2pm Island Park in Springfield (200 West B St. in Springfield). Donate or Join a Team (look for Always Be Kind Yarn/Yarnies541/Stringfield team) at www.NAMILane.org this event raises funds and awareness for National Alliance on Mental Health Lane County chapter, an incredible resource supporting folks in our community and a huge suicide prevention resource in our area. 

Yarnies541 BUSINESS MEETING: Sunday, May 18th 5:30-7:30pm at Stringfield Yarn Collective (175 S. 5th St. in Springfield).

Fat Lamb Fiber Festival May 17th & 18th in Scio Oregon. This is a smaller fiber festival and Fiber Arts Show featuring a spin-in and stith-in as well as a sheep to shawl event with the Aurora Colony Spinning Guild. KIP Day Saturday, June 14th Knit-In-Public day! 10-4 in Springfield at the City Hall Plaza (Library steps/fountain area corner of N. 5th & A St. in Springfield). Plan to bring a chair and hang out with us for the day while we craft in public during worldwide Knit in Public day. Knitters, crocheters, spinners, fiber crafts, all welcome. There are many food options nearby, let’s cross our fingers for some good weather! 

Pride Night with the Eugene Emeralds: Tuesday June 17th 6:30 pm. This will replace our general Tuesday Meetup that week. More to come as we work to coordinate seats as a group. Learn more about the fundraiser here: 50% of the ticket cost will be donated to Queer Eugene: LinktreeQueerEugene tickets are approx $15.35 each.

Eugene PRIDE: 11am-7pm June 28, 2025. Visit www.EugenePride.org for more info. There is a chance that Stringfield Yarn Collective and Yarnies541 may share an informational table at this event. If you are interested in tabling, please let us know.

Lane County Fair is July 23-27 this year and our group project theme is SNAILS (think snails, gardens, plants, humor, etc.) Looking forward to Yarnies541 group participation this year along with the beautiful things I know you are all working on to submit to the show for judging!

Opportunity at Lane County Fair: Lane County Fair is coming up in July. The Textile department reached out looking to see if anyone is interested in working with the textile division during fair. They have one position: July 10-July 28 and consists of moving tables, sorting and displaying entries, and sitting in during Fair days. Pay is $15/hr If you are interested, please email Celeste at textilesatthefair@gmail.com
