Hello and happy last day of July! There are some fun events coming up and interesting things to check out, so keep reading!
–This Saturday, August 2nd is the first Warehouse District Art Hop in Eugene. They are on Instagram as @WarehouseDistrictArtHop and information can be found on Facebook as well. This is a self guided tour and looks really fun!
–THIS SUNDAY August 3rd at 7:30pm is Craft Movie Night at Art House! “The Phoenecian Scheme” this is a special “low light” (vs no light) movie event for crafters to be able to stitch while we watch the show! (non-crafters welcome too!) If we can really show up to these movies, they will likely have more, and maybe at times other than Sunday night. Hope to see you there! –August 7th at PK Park: Pink Out for Planned Parenthood with the Eugene Ems! Join us for a fantastic game to cheer on the Eugene Emeralds. Wear pink to show your support for Planned Parenthood and reproductive health care for all! –Tuesday, August 19th another benefit for Planned Parenthood, Drag Bingo with Judy Jitsu at Play (232 W. 5th Ave in Eugene) from 7pm-9pm. SO EXCITING!!! Yarnies541 was at Play accidentally for Bingo this week and it was a blast! Hope to see you there!
September events:
Springfield Block Party is happening on Friday, September 5th held on Main Street in downtown Springfield. With loads of all ages activities, food, beverages, and booths to peruse to learn about interesting things, purchase fun stuff, mingle and have a good time in the community. Stringfield Yarn Collective will have a booth and is hosting Yarnies541 there! Mark your calendars and come check it out! *There will be an opportunity for paid members to vend at this event, in the booth on Main Street (4pm-10pm) as well as at Stringfield in the shop that day (11am-7pm). If you are interested in vending, please email Yarnies541@gmail.com with “SYC Block Vend” in the subject line and an idea of what you would like to sell and we will be in touch!
ADDITIONALLY, a vending opportunity for paid members the following Friday, September 12th for Springfield’s second Friday Art Walk in September, because craft is art! If you are interested in vending on September 12th from 11-730pm, please email Yarnies541@gmail.com subject line “Art Walk Vend” with an idea of what you would like to sell and we will get back to you!
–Cozy’s STITCH-O-RAMA is still going strong, about 6 weeks left! Looking forward to seeing what everyone is working on, so much great stuff and cool ideas!
–LANE COUNTY FAIR was a huge success for us! Yarnies541 members submitted 60 entries into the fair and came away with 36 ribbons! There were so many incredible submissions into textiles, and quite a lot of competition. Congratulations to all of our ribbon winners and huge appreciation for all of our members who put themselves out there by submitting items to be judged, WELL DONE! Check out our Discord to see pictures of member’s well crafted submissions and ribbons!
