Yarnies! October is FLYING by! Like bats on a broomstick or something!

Meetup this Tuesday, October 15th is at Whirled Pies (199 E. 8th Ave, in Eugene). 530-ish to sometime around 730 or 8pm. Stop in and say Hi, there are no rules about time, come and go as you please!

Business meeting Sunday, October 20th: Yarnies541 business meeting: 5pm-8pm (we usually get done earlier and there is a lot of knitting/crochet and sharing happening). This month, at Jenna’s request, we will have a Halloween theme! Feel free to bring treats to share!

We will be doing some actual business things this month that we hope will allow for a robust experience for the club going forward.

Agenda: Actual Bylaws! Positions in the club! (all because we want to be able to create a bank account to coordinate events, fundraisers, charitable giving, etc.).

We are hoping to plan for the year and determine what we want to support and really coordinate our efforts to do that.

GROWER’S MARKET MEETING SPACE: 454 Willamette St. in Eugene.

We have a date from our beloved LYS Cozy for the Summer Stitch-O-Rama party: Thursday evening,  October 24th at the Art House (492 E. 13th in Eugene). More details to come. When it’s public, we will push all the info out. Check your email for information from Cozy directly if you registered for Stitch-O-Rama this year.

Friday-Sunday November 1st-3rd: Sacred Sheep in Portland. Visit https://thesacredsheep.com/ for more info. Check out the discord group for chatter under “events” to coordinate rides, meetups, etc.

Crochet members: there has been a lot of interest in learning to crochet socks. Does anyone have an interest in teaching that? Or learning together? Hit up our discord under “crochet’, or email us at yarnies541@gmail.com  and let’s see what we can cook up together! This would be a great opportunity to practice your teaching skills with friendly faces too.

There is a Stripe-a-long happening on Ravelry, Facebook and Instagram. Look for #StripeAlong2024, SO MANY pretty striped projects!

And if any of you were knitting in the early 2000s, you might be familiar with the Clapotis (pronounced clap-o-tee) by Kate Gilbert from the Knitty.com Fall 2004 issue. Knitty.com has been an amazing resource for a long time and they are really excited to be hosting a KAL for the 20 year anniversary of the Clapotis! Visit www.knitty.com to learn more, or follow #ClapotisFest on instagram.

Please check out our calendar on the main page of the website for recurring events. And please, as always, email or comment about events we may have missed! Or post them on the Yarnies541 Discord: https://discord.com/invite/6RHfvR4vTh
