Yarnies541 just received a note from Bethany @EugeneSews on instagram about this very sweet gathering happening this weekend! read on to learn more:
Garden Party Frocktails 2024!
“Frocktails” is a national phenomenon where sewists get together and have a little party while wearing handmade clothing. It regularly happens in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago etc and is typically a red carpet cocktail party. I (Bethany of @soberseamstress on Instagram) am throwing a very casual version for Eugene… think garden party + potluck + outdoor picnic tables and good vibes.
Please note that this is being hosted by Bethany, your local sewing friend, and isn’t being thrown by her fabric shop or any businesses… this means please don’t bring alcohol as I have a city permit to throw a non-alcoholic potluck for my local sewing friends and I didn’t go through the hoops to make this a big business-sponsored event with tickets (most Frocktail tickets are $50+ in other cities). I paid $80 for the event rental and would love it if some of the attendees can chip in $5 on ko-fi. If I get more money than the event rental needed, I will use it to buy you all lemonade and seltzers etc. (ko-fi.com/bethanyhaysalsin) You can also find me on venmo if that’s easier (@bethany-alsin).

-are you a quilter or knitter or other kind of fiber artist?! we want to hang out with you so come anyway even if you won’t be wearing a handmade garment.
