Hello Yarnies! Busy week coming up!

Monday, June 24th: Sit & Stitch at Shelton McMurphey Johnson House 6pm-8pm. Bring your lawn/camp chair for the patio area or join us on the steps while we enjoy the outside weather. Inside the SMJ house is open as well if it’s too chilly, but Oregon in the summer means sitting outside! Free event, and donations gladly accepted for the SMJ House capital campaign Garden Terrace project. Hope to see you there. Visit smjhouse.org

Tuesday June 25th Meetup: 5pm-ish at Oakshire Brewing 207 Madison in Eugene. My favorite night of the week!

BLACK SHEEP GATHERING this Friday through Sunday June 28th-30th. Located at 3700 Knox Butte Rd. E. in Albany Oregon at the Albany Expo Center. Free entry, Flock and Fiber, and lots of vendors. Guaranteed to see many of us there this weekend! www.blacksheepgathering.org

Ewethful Fiber Farm open studio this Saturday, June 29th from 11am-3pm,  located at 891 W. 1st. St. in Halsey Oregon. Great Sit & Stitch in a charming mill store. Definitely worth a stop, and on the way to Black Sheep this weekend too!

Cozy is ramping up for their 8th annual Summer Stitch-O-Rama on Saturday, June 29th! Stop in at Cozy (285 E. 5th St.) to purchase your gameboard in person or visit www.cozy-yarn.com to purchase online and download at home. $12 to enter. Prizes for progress and loads of fun!

If you’re up for some southern travel, or have crafty friends in the Roseburg area, the Roseburg Yarnies have a recurring Friday Night Stitching Circle from 4pm-7pm at the Knotty Knittress located at 742 SE Jackson St. in Roseburg. Check it out if you can! www.theknottyknittress.com it looks like their calendar hasn’t updated yet, but Andi is gathering up the community down there and has announced this on instagram @TheKnittyKnittress

Lane County Fair Submissions! Visit fair site to see what you can submit https://www.atthefair.com/creative-exhibits Entries open May 3rd, entry deadline July 5th. Physical Entry drop off is July 14th and July 15th. If you are not able to drop off your entry, talk with the group to see if someone can drop it  off for you (you must have all your paperwork completed though.) If you are participating in our chicken nonsense, your entry will be Division 1501, Class 04 (knitted chicken) or 06 (crochet chicken). I seriously cannot wait to see our chickens!

Speaking of Fair…We have been asked to “demo” at the Lane County Fair on Wednesday, July 24th during the day and early evening. “Demo” at the fair is essentially just like Knit & Crochet in Public Day: we hang out in the AC at the exhibit hall near the textiles and do our craft. Folks may stop and ask questions and we (being the friendly folks we are) answer as best we can! This is a good opportunity for us to also talk about our awesome social group and shout out our local yarn store Cozy. Please email yarnies541@gmail.com by JUNE 30th and let me know if you are interested and able to show up for our community in this way. You will get a ticket for that day of the fair (parking not included). Fair is 11am-11pm, although no one expects us to be there that late!

Phew! Lots of fun coming up!

Happy Crafting Yarnies!
