Tuesday 4/30 meetup and meeting notes

****Tuesday April 30th meetup: Public House at 418 A St. in Springfield. 5pm-whenever (usually we disband between 7-8pm). Please join us! If it’s raining we’ll likely be in the main hall, if it’s sunny we try to get tables in the “outside” area at the back of the venue.***

Wil-Lamb-ette Yarnies  Meeting Notes : 4/21/24 

In Attendance: Arminda, Arsyn, Ellen, Erin, Krista, Laura, Mindy, Robin 

Lane County Fair Submissions 

• Visit fair site to see what you can submit https://www.atthefair.com/creative-exhibits

• Entries open May 3rd, entry deadline July 5th. Physical Entry drop off is July 14th and July 15th.

• If you are not able to drop off your entry, talk with the group to see if someone can drop it  off for you (you must have all your paperwork completed though.) 

• The group would like to inundate the submissions with CHICKENS! 

Feature on Social Media 

• We would like to feature our wonderful creators on our socials to let other members know  about you and what you do. 

• Mindy will contact the person chosen (in no particular order) for the month and collect the  information for the post. If you would rather not participate, just let her know. 

• Mindy will be putting up some polls on Facebook and Raverly to gather information  regarding our members. If you would rather not participate, just let her know. 

• A poll will be put up on facebook and instagram to get some suggestions for a movie night, please participate to let us  know what movies you would like to watch. 

Mark Your Calendars (Fun upcoming events) 

April 27th – Spring 2024 Handmade Market – 10am-4pm at the Scottish Rite Center 4090  Commercial St SE Salem. Put on by the Salem Etsy Team with 60+ vendors of handmade  goods. Mindy will be a vendor at this event selling her crocheted items. 

April 27th – Local Yarn Store /Book Shop day! Come to Cozy for a springtime yarn release  party and trunk show with Tatiana of @tumalo_fiber, along with other LYS day perks!

May 11th – Laura will be doing a trunk show at Hook & Needle in Vancouver, WA 

May 18th – Nami Suicide Prevention Walk (more info below) 

May 3rd – Taylor will be knitting in real time during the Instaballet (#createtogether.) Check  them out at https://instaballet.org 

May 3rd Krista will be at the Art Walk the first Friday of every month in front of Za Pizza Car  on 13th and Willamette knitting from about 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Bring camp chairs if you would  like to come and hang out while knitting or crocheting in public for the Art Walk. 

June 8th Knit in public day. A suggestion was 5th street gallery, Arminda will call to see if  space is available.

May 18th – Nami Suicide Prevention https://.namior.org

• Laura will be handing out meeps/hearts/silicone bracelets and more.  

• If you would like to help by making some meeps or hearts, patterns will be provided at a  Tuesday meet up. If you aren’t able to come, please contact her via Instagram if you  would like to get the pattern to help out. 

• May 14th would be the deadline for anything you have made for this event. 

• Laura will provide link to sign up for her team or if you would like to do any fundraising  for this event. 

May meeting or special meetup in June? (No Union/Guild meeting in June as there are conflicts with graduations and Father’s day events)

• Taylor’s sister Bethany is willing to come to a meeting to help with some joint exercises. • To make this worth her while, donations on a sliding scale from $10-25 are being  accepted. A headcount is needed if you are interested in coming to this so we can raise  enough funds for her. Please email Yarnies541@gmail.com if you are interested in this.

Bank Account 

• The time has come to start discussing about having a bank account for funds. • We will need to decide who will be on the bank account (multiple people,) and when  those people can meet up to get this set up. 

• It was suggested to get an account at a credit union to avoid lots of fees.
